KIRSHNER SCHOLARS

The Kirshner Scholars was created in 2007 in honor of Partnership for the Future’s founder, Alan Kirshner.  In 1994, Mr. Kirshner had a vision to create a program that would “ensure that every motivated student with limited resources has a workplace internship in high school and can attend the college of his or her choice.”  Each year, PFF will award a maximum of three $5,000 scholarship awards to PFF “graduating” students who exemplify the ideals of PFF and Alan Kirshner’s commitment to excellence.  Students were selected based on the following criteria:

• Commitment to the PFF Program;
• Work Ethic;
• Academic Performance;
• Leadership within the Program & Community; and
• Excellent Communication Skills.

Nearly 200 students have graduated from PFF.  98% of PFF grads have matriculated to post-secondary education programs.  Right now, PFF graduates most often attend institutions in Virginia and North Carolina with a few venturing further South and to the Northeast.
